About

GBA GB Maps is a satnav that runs on a Game Boy Advance, inspired by the classic vaporware of E3 2004.

The UK road network and full postcode set fits on one 32 MB cartridge. 

Type in two postcodes then it guides you along turn by turn.

Features

• Every road in Great Britain and Northern Ireland
• 1.7 million real UK postcodes
• Turn-by-turn directions with distances
• Currently active route saves to the cartridge
• The default trip is Wembley to Buckingham Palace
• An attempt to pipe in your actual location data as reported by your browser (press LR when in empty keyboard entry to paste your current location)

Controls

• D-pad: move around the map
• LR: cycle turns, LR together reset to beginning
• START: set your destination
• SELECT: set your starting point
• AB: shrink or hide the top and bottom bars

On the keyboard screen, A types and B deletes.

Notes

Map data is from OpenStreetMap (ODbL). Postcodes are from the ONS Postcode Directory (OGL).

Fonts are Tiny5 and Press Start 2P (SIL OFL).
